I have copied a procedure that has been used by engineers for over 200 years for clamping a precession cylindrical object without damaging or marking it.
I believe that this form of clamping will be used in the future by other manufacturers.
Be Warned: I have replicated other ways of achieving this bracket and found that pipe clips fall off, and that any form of steel jacking screw damages the structural aluminum tube of your tripods.
